HUGE outdoor concerts planned for this holiday weekend over in King of Prussia
Celebrate your independence with some amazing outdoor music opportunities all around this Fourth of July weekend in KoP's Heuser Park !
Looking for some 'musical' fireworks this weekend? Well, look no further than Heuser Park (about 8 miles east of P'ville) in King of Prussia where not one; not two; but THREE days of this coming 4th of July Weekend will be filled with the sounds of great outdoor music all provided by the folks over at Concerts Under the Stars...
Up first, on Thursday, July 3rd, starting at 5:30, the focus will be mostly on some electronic vibes with the headliner Lotus - Their sound has influences of classic electronic dance music, funk, post-rock and dance-rock. Over the years, their unique musical blend of electronica with jam music has helped forge a new path in the jamband landscape, influencing many younger bands in the scene.
Opening for Lotus will be Circles Around the Sun & Ghost-Note... Circles Around The Sun offer synth-drenched excursions into outer-spatial sound design with the guiding hands of guitarist John Lee Shannon, bassist Dan Horne, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, and drummer Mark Levy. Their material finds them oscillating through hybrid strains of disco-funk, soul jazz, and psychedelic rock, harnessing their stylistic lanes into a singular, intoxicating brew. Ghost-Note is a highly inventive percussion-based ensemble that showcases the combined talents of Snarky Puppy drummers Robert "Sput" Searight and Nate Werth. Working with a rotating group of collaborators, they make a kinetic, stylistically varied blend of groove-based funk, EDM, hip-hop, jazz, and rock.

The whole shebang kicks off at 1:30 in the afternoon & promises to continue well into the night! Plan to spend your whole day there as you will not want to miss a single one of these performers!
Still want more?!? Well then, look no further than the Sunday, July 6th offering at Heuser where jamband Americana will rule the day with Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country taking the stage - This one kicks at 5:30 pm & will have you rockin' and swayin' for hours on end!
The celebrated New Jersey septet Railroad Earth is comprised of Todd Sheaffer [lead vocals, acoustic guitar], Tim Carbone [violins, electric guitar, vocals], John Skehan [mandolin, bouzouki, piano, vocals], Carey Harmon [drums, percussion, vocals], Dave Speranza [upright & electric bass], Matt Slocum (organ and piano) and Mike Robinson (multi-instumentalist), and for over two decades has captivated audiences with gleefully unpredictable live shows and eloquent and elevated studio output. They are well-versed in rambling around, as you might expect from a band named after a Jack Kerouac poem, and this jam-grass engine known as Railroad Earth has let no moss grow under its rustic wheels. Yonder Mountain String Band has been a driving force in roots music for nearly three decades and a key player in the progressive jam-grass movement. They feature original songs inspired by lived experiences, people, and places that have shaped them with a mix of bluegrass, rock, and country with soulful, funky grooves. Daniel Donato's musical style blends the best of Nashville honky tonks with an improvisational spirit rooted in the ethos of truthful, beautiful, and good music. That intersection proves to be a potent combination, made only stronger but a vibrant, youthful, and supremely talented touring band. Cosmic Country, in short, presents itself as a timeless musical personality that may cause the heart to swell and the hips to shake.
These line-ups & the wonderful summer weather forecasted promise to attract a BIGGER crowds than the normal Upper Merion Township Building space could accommodate, so the decision was made to slide on over to nearby Heuser Park - Should be a great (new) spot to take in these shows...
