Mowere Road To Shut Down For Months In Phoenixville

A major road reconstruction project will close a main thoroughfare to traffic in Phoenixville.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A stretch of Mowere Road will be shut down for construction in Phoenixville for the rest of the summer and into the fall, officials announced.

The work will impact the stretch between North Ridge Drive and St. Mary’s Street.

It's expected to begin on Aug. 12 and will continue through Nov. 22.

Improvements from the project will include roadway reconstruction and resurfacing, replacement of and addition of curbs, sidewalks, and ADA curb ramps, new storm sewers, and new signage.

There will also be a new signalized trail crossing over the road for the Schuylkill River Trail.

The trail will remain open while work gets underway.

Additional traffic should be expected in the area while Mowere is closed, officials said.
