Remember, these shows are OUTDOORS & fairly chill... But if Mother Nature doesn't want to play nice, last-minute switches & relocations are always a possibility so be sure to check the websites of the shows involved for any last-minute changes to their schedules...
We'll kick thing off with Dean & Company performing this Wednesday, May 21st, 6:30 pm at 'Chill on the Hill' in Valley Creek Park (Route 29) in Malvern. Dean & Company came together on a whim for a one-off performance of Grateful Dead music performed by real Grateful Dead fans. Dean has assembled this lineup by allowing the universe and destiny to reveal the perfect combination for this project. Although primarily showcasing the songs of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, Dean & Company also features the music of alternate classic rock bands and figures, as well as some reggae and soul music. They can be found performing in and around the Philadelphia and tri-state area for Deadheads of all ages. Plus, local fav Matt Santry opens the gig with a full band + soul-stirring songs.

The weather forecast for Wednesday is not promising (ah; Spring!), but we're hoping thing will work out - Also, current road construction there at Route 29 might make driving a little tricky as well for some... Make sure you factor all of those things into your plans so you can arrive on time & thoroughly enjoy this amazing group!
Also this week, Concerts Under the Stars has started their 39th Season (!) over in nearby King of Prussia... We missed telling you about Tommy Conwell being scheduled to play over there last Friday (mea cupa), but we're on the case now - & what a fantastic show indeed! It's The Wood Brothers appearing THIS Friday, May 23rd at 7:00 pm right there on the field behind the Upper Merion Township Building at Henderson & West Valley Forge Roads.
They say listening, in its truest sense, is a dying art, but it's one The Wood Brothers are committed to practicing and upholding as a virtue. Through the near two decades spent together in the studio and on the road, the Grammy Award-nominated trio have honed their interconnected, singular voice to telepathic proportions. On their latest studio effort, Puff of Smoke (due in August) you'll find a true collaborative effort between its three members, the songs weave a medley of musical ideas — ranging from Latin-inflected acoustic guitar lines, to driving post-jazz rhythms, to infectious sing along choruses — resulting in a cohesive, joyful whole. You should hear a nice chunk of the new record performed at this show... Along with other fan favorites tossed in - All with The Wood Brothers' trademark turns of phrase and lighthearted, but subversively profound wisdom at the core. Their music is a reminder that life is both precious and precarious, and The Wood Brothers invite you to enjoy the ride. Gifted songwriters and multi-instrumentalists from North Carolina Viv & Riley are slated to open... Starting way back in 1985, these shows in King of Prussia have proven to be a staple of the summer music scene. The line-up for this season is OUTSTANDING & can be viewed in full at https://www.concertsunderthest...
That's it for this week, but turn to this space every Monday (more or less) to get the scoop for each week; okay?
ENJOY!
