West Chester University And Union Are Close To Reaching A Contract
Lawyers representing the Pennsylvania state universities and the union representing the 10 universities are working on a contract.

WEST CHESTER, PA - The Pennsylvania State College system and the union representing the faculty at the 10 universities, including West Chester University, have reached an agreement in principle for a new faculty contract.
Legal counsel for the Associate of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties and the Pennsylvania System of Higher Education are finalizing the language for a new contract.
The contract had expired on June 30, 2023.

After the language is complete, the contract will be available for union members, and the ratification process will begin.
Contract details will be released after the ratification and approval process is complete and before the Board of Governors takes action.

The union represents about 5,500 faculty and coaches at the state system universities.
The public university system's mission is to provide a high-quality education at the lowest possible cost to students.
The state universities are Cheyney, Commonwealth (Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield), East Stroudsburg, Indiana, Kutztown, Millersville, PennWest (California, Clarion, and Edinboro), Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester.
