PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville's trademark festival will look a bit different in 2024.

That's because it won't be held in 2024 at all. This year's Firebird Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, organizers announced.

The event is historically held in December, but that would've likely proven impossible this year due to the burn ban in Chester County being extended through Christmas and the lingering severe drought conditions around the region.

"While this isn't our original plan, we're excited about the new opportunities this date offers, including the chance to organize additional events around the Firebird celebration," organizers said. "We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire community for your continued support and enthusiasm. This festival wouldn’t be possible without you."

The festival reminded the community of the importance of the burn ban, given the ongoing risk of wildfires.

"Burn bans are essential to protect life, property, and our natural resources," they said. "They also keep emergency responders available for house fires, traffic accidents, and other urgent calls."

The festival features live performances, local art, an array of food vendors, other events, and of course the burning of the massive Phoenix.
