New Traffic Patterns On Ship Road Begin Monday: Police
The new road project is expected to improve congestion on Ship Road and Lancaster Avenue in West Whiteland, Chester County.

WEST WHITELAND, PA – A new traffic pattern is in place on Ship Road, West Whiteland, starting Monday, officials said.
The new southbound Ship Road (Ship Road Couplet) is open south of Swedesford Road at the Chester Valley Trail through the Lincoln Highway just north of the Route 30 Bypass.
Motorists driving southbound on Ship Road motorists are diverted to the right onto a new lane immediately after crossing the Chester Valley Trail, while northbound Ship Road traffic continues to use the existing Ship Road.

Lincoln Highway's eastbound traffic will use a new traffic signal to turn right onto the new southbound Ship Road.

The couplet also includes a public trail that will complete most of the planned connection between the existing Chester Valley Trail, north of VK Brewing, and the Chester Valley Trail extension planned for the out-of-service freight rail line south of the Exton Bypass.
