Summer weather this week will make the outdoor concert scene magical!
The summer weather finally cooperates to make this week a fabulous time to get outdoors for an evening concert or three - Some great choices
There really is nothing quite like sitting out under the stars on a summer evening, listening to live music... Even better when Mother Nature helps out with cooling temps & clear skies... Even more better still when the shows are FREE! Well, this week, that should happen with two out of three of these performances...
Up first on Tuesday evening in nearby Eagleview, it'll be a FREE show with none other than the legendary 90s band Cracker taking the stage! This Virginia-born band continues to mold elements of alternative pop/rock and country into several irreverent, buzzworthy anthems. Filled with guitar-driven rock songs and gravelly vocals, their sound established Cracker's presence in the rock arena, and "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)" became a number one modern rock single. Their sophomore effort Kerosene Hat spawned another popular MTV/radio hit with "Low," which charted in the U.K. and also cracked the pop charts in America. The album went platinum as a result. Expect to hear both of those on Tuesday night along with other tunes that will bring you back to a time when things were simpler, but still toe-tappin' & head-noddin'... Mark your calendars for this one - Tuesday, August 5th from 7 - 9 pm... Bonus! - Phoenixville's own talented troubadour, Cliff Hillis is slated to open for Cracker so make sure you get there early to enjoy his set as well!

Friday, August 8th over at the Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts will be a very cool show with Darlingside set to appear... The band has long been praised for their harmonies and intelligent songwriting, described by NPR as “exquisitely-arranged, literary-minded, baroque folk-pop,” and their dynamic presence (crowded tightly together onstage) have made them a live-performance favorite.
Maggie Pope will be opening for Daringside - In a relatively short amount of time, Pope has emerged a respected songwriter, blending poetic lyrics with a performance that brims with introspection and vulnerability - sharing songs that invite the listener to embrace all the sundry of emotions that clothe the human spirit. Her debut solo offering, June Tapes, resonated authentically with listeners, many of whom noted a nostalgic quality to her vocals that seemed to harken back to voices the likes of Eva Cassidy or Joan Baez.
