Utility Work To Shut Down Route 29 In Schuylkill Township

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP, PA — Route 29 will be shut down in Schuylkill Township for months as authorities begin utility improvements and related construction in the area.

The key roadway will be closed from Pothouse Road to Charlestown Road starting on Monday, March 10 through Friday, May 16.

The closure will be in place each weekday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Drivers will be detoured to Pothouse Road, White Horse Road, and Morehall Road.
The utility work will be completed by PECO in partnership with PennDOT, officials said.

Backups and delays will occur throughout the area, and drivers should plan for additional travel time.
