Weather starting to heat up - A PERFECT time for music outdoors!
Our weekly look at the great outdoor concerts that are happening in our area - TOO much good music to miss by sitting at home; watching TV!
Temps are rising & the rainclouds seem to be cutting us (a little bit of) a break...
The GOOD news THIS week is that the THIRD TIME seems to be the charm for Dean & Company... They are slated to perform TONIGHT (instead of the past two rainy Wednesdays), & will be starting at 6:30 pm at 'Chill on the Hill' in Valley Creek Park (Route 29) in Malvern.
As we 'may' have mentioned before, Dean & Company came together on a whim for a one-off performance of Grateful Dead music performed by real Grateful Dead fans. Dean has assembled this lineup by allowing the universe and destiny to reveal the perfect combination for this project. Although primarily showcasing the songs of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, Dean & Company also features the music of alternate classic rock bands and figures, as well as some reggae and soul music. They can be found performing in and around the Philadelphia and tri-state area for Deadheads of all ages.

Food & beverage options will be available at the park - Blankets, beach chairs & picnic baskets as suggested as well... Also, remember the current road construction there at Route 29 might make driving a little tricky as well for some... Make sure you factor that into your plans so you can arrive on time & thoroughly enjoy this amazing group!
On Friday, June 6th, over at King of Prussia's Concerts Under the Stars, it's a night of outstanding cover bands - An American Classic: Bruce vs. Petty promises to be Born to Run Down the Dream (clever!) as the bands perform the music of both Tom Petty & the Boss... Opening will be Brown Sugar tackling the catalog of the Rolling Stones... If you really dig Classic Rock, this is the gig for you!

Also on Friday over there at the Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts series is a FREE SHOW with Over the Hillbillies... Can't find too much info for this band, but their name seems to pretty-much say it all... Bluegrass takes on classic songs - Not a bad way to spend your Friday night; right?

Finally, BACK at Concerts Under the Stars in King of Prussia on Sunday, June 8th will be the rescheduled show from Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers!
If you've never had the pleasure of seeing these ROCKERS in person, you really need to make this one a must-see on your appointment calendar... Simply incredible to see in person!
As their bio states: They broke onto the Philadelphia music scene in 1984 debuting at JC Dobbs at 3rd and South. Conwell, born in East Falls and raised in Bala Cynwyd, quickly rose to the top of the Philly rock 'n' roll food chain by providing long, sweaty, bluesy, and often transcendent shows that audiences ate up as something different from what they were being offered elsewhere. The band made the hugely popular independent album Walking on the Water in 1987 and two albums for Columbia records, 1988's Rumble and 1990's Guitar Trouble. Rumble yielded a number one hit on the Billboard Album Rock chart, I'm Not Your Man. It was around this time that The Young Rumblers were featured in Rolling Stone magazine and appeared on Dick Clark's American Music Awards, Late Night with David Letterman, and the Arsenio Hall Show. Their overall style is blues/punk/jazz/rock 'n' roll mix, but don't be surprised if they throw in some oldies, Irish, classic rock, rat pack, and folk as well... As for their stage presence? Well THAT you just gotta see for yourself! BUCKLE UP & enjoy the ride!!!
Opening for the Rumblers will be the Youngers - Hailing from the heart of Pennsylvania, The Youngers are currently celebrating their 25th PLUS year as a band! They have been crafting their unique sound since their formation in 1999. Their musical journey culminated in the release of their fourth full-length album, "Nashville Again," in 2022. This milestone catapulted them into the spotlight, earning them a coveted spot at the 2023 MerleFest Festival, a testament to their exceptional talent. In 2024, The Youngers entered the Wilco Loft in Chicago to record their fifth full-length album entitled "Dreaming," which is due to be released this year. Their eclectic repertoire spans numerous musical genres, with their most recent offerings taking on a decidedly indie-rock personality. The band infuses every note with foot-tapping, highway-ready vibes, and a touch of in-your-face attitude. Expect the unexpected from The Youngers live shows, masters of harmonies and a dizzying array of instruments, including lap steel, upright bass, mandolin, electric twelve-string guitar, baritone guitar, acoustic and electric six-string guitars, and fretless electric bass.
