Five Things to Know This Week: Richland Community Day, Kids Triathlon
Patch gives you a rundown of what's going on in the community this week.

1. Pine Board of Supervisors Meeting
Find out in person what’s going on in local government. Pine Township’s board of supervisors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at the Pine Community Center on Pine Park Drive.
2. Movies in the Park
Attend a free showing of “The Muppets” at dusk, Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Pine Park. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand. An adult must accompany children age 12 and younger. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following Wednesday.
3. Richland Community Day
Richland Township kicks off its 20th annual Community Day at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at Richland Community Park. The fun includes festivities, crafts, fireworks and more.

4. Habitat for Humanity 13th Annual Kids Triathlon-North Park
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh’s 13th Annual Kids Triathlon kicks off at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at North Park.
Young athletes ages 7-15 will swim, bike, and run to the finish line to raise money for the affordable housing programs of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh.

Registration is $30 per child. All athletes who register in advance will receive a goodie bag and t-shirt and will qualify to win prizes on race day.

5. St. Alphonsus Gently Used Clothing Sale
St. Alphonsus Parish in Pine is holding a gently used clothing sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. The event raises money for the church’s annual Passion Play.
