Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Pine-Richland Girls JV/Varsity Tennis Parent Meeting

A mandatory meeting for parents of the PR Girls Varsity and JV Tennis teams will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Treesdale Community Center, located at 1 Treesdale Commons, Gibsonia, 15044.

2. Pine Board of Supervisors Meeting: Canceled

No meeting this week. Pine Township’s board of supervisors has canceled its 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Pine Community Center on Pine Park Drive.

3. Town Hall Forum on Affordable Care Act

Do you have questions about the new national Health Insurance Exchanges?

A town hall forum on the Affordable Care Act will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19 in Orchard Hill Church, 2551 Brandt School
Road, Wexford. The forum is sponsored by APPRISE, Pennsylvania’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program.

4. Movies in the Park

Attend a free showing of “Free Willy” at dusk, Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Pine Park. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand. 

An adult must accompany children age 12 and younger. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following Wednesday.

5. Mommy & Me Meet Up

McGinnis Sisters in Adams Township will hold two free Mommy & Me sessions, at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22.

This month’s activity is science experiments. Kids will try their hand at whipping up some fun science experiments. This is going to be a messy one, so dress your child in clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
