Health Department Shuts Down Pittsburgh Mall Eatery
The Allegheny County Health Department has closed a popular eatery at a Pittsburgh mall.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has order the closure of Sarku Japan in Monroeville Mall because of an imminent health hazard.
An inspection on Monday revealed the kitchen floor was covered with waste water from a backup around the grease trap. The manager told the inspector that the water had been backing up for five days. The restaurant failed to notify the health department food safety program, which it is required to do when an emergency situation that might impact food safety occurs.
Additionally, the restaurant's posted health permit is expired.
