Pittsburgh Restaurant Shuts Down Without Notice

A well-known Pittsburgh eatery shut it doors without announcing its closure.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Downtown Pittsburgh has lost another restaurant in a key location. Sullivan's Steakhouse in the lobby of the U.S. Steel Tower on Grant Street has closed without notice.

The Denver-based chain has removed its Pittsburgh location from its website.

Sullivan's opened in the 7,600-square-foot space in October 2021. It replaced Red, another steakhouse that closed in September 2018 less than a year after it opened.

Sullivan's now has 14 restaurants across the country. Its only remaining Pennsylvania location is in King of Prussia near Philadelphia.

The loss of Sullivan's will hardly leave Pittsburgh without steakhouse options. Among the remaining ones in or near Downtown are Morton's, Ruth Chris, Hyde Park, Eddie Merlot's and the Capital Grille.
