Pittsburgh Vegan Restaurant Week: Where To Celebrate
A number of Pittsburgh-area restaurants are offering specials on tasty vegeterian fare now through May 18.
PITTSBURGH, PA — If you don't believe the city has vibrant vegetarian dining options, this week could change your mind. It's Pittsburgh Vegan Restaurant Week, and many restaurants are offering specials on vegetarian dishes.
Here are some of your options:
- Arepittas, Downtown: Specials include Arepittas Bowl-Pabellon Criollo Vegan (Eggplant, Susana {mix onions, pepers, pineapple and poblano} or soy chorizo).
- Alihhan's Mediterranean Cuisine: Downtown: $25 for a 3 course meal. Guest can pick from two appetizers (hummus ortabbouleh, served with pita bread or fresh cut veggies), two main courses (veggie saute or Imam bayildi Turkish eggplant dish served with wheat bulgur) and two desserts (raw truffles or Turkish delight).
- Alihan's Coffee & Breakfast, Downtown: Vegan guests will get 2 percent discount on dishes: tomato soup, hazelnut topped waffle, hot oatmeal with almond milk and traditional Turkish bulgur salad kisir.
- I Love Giovanni's, Downtown: $18 for the three course pre-fixe meal: homemade hummus with pitabread, falafel platter with French fries, raw truffles desserts made of dates, cocoa and nuts.
- Me Empanada, Lawrenceville: 10 percent off any vegan option at the restaurant.
- EYV Restaurant, North Side: The $45 meal: First Course: Snack Sample, Second Course: Farmer's Salad Third Course: choice of Mushroom etouffee, roasted sweet onion or cabbage pastrami.
- Con Alma, Downtown: Indian inspired vegan dishes through spring menu paired with one of the restaurant's vegan wine options.
- Cafe Chocolade, Oakdale: Specials include a gluten-free, dairy free cheese plate; a black bean burger with avocado fries and a tomato, blue and feta cheese galette.
- Soup is Good, Harrisville: Special is gazpacho, a cold soup made completely of raw veggies including but notlimited to cucumbers, tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, bell pepper, onions.
- Juicery, Canonsburg: Special is avocado toast with radish.
- Revival on Lincoln, Bellevue: Prix-Fixe Vegan Menu: $35++ First course is a Farro, Asparagus, Strawberry Salad with Tabasco Lemon Vinaigrette; Second course is Paella, Cremini Mushrooms, Zucchini and Tomato; Third course is Coconut Chocolate Sorbet, Amarettto.
- Emporio, Downtown: Entree of Veggie Balls with Marinara over Broccoli for $18.
- Sienna Mercato, Downtown: Lemon pepper cauliflower steak with spinach and roasted tomatoes for $26.
- Shady Grove, Shadyside: Vegan Portobello Cheesesteak-roasted portobello, green peppers, roastedred peppers, caramelized onions, vegan mozzarella, crisp jalapenos for $14. You can also substitute vegan mozzarella on any pizza.
- Spice Delight: Various appetizer, entree and dessert specials.
