Conshohocken Authority to Lower Rates

The quarterly rate is slated to decrease by 33 percent.

Borough of Conshohocken Authority Chairman Felix Raimondo sent a letter to users on Monday stating that their rates would be decreasing starting in September.

According to the letter, the service charge for customers will decrease from $67 to $45 per equivalent dwelling unit (EDU). The usage rate of $3.07 per 1,000 gallons remains the same.

Raimondo said in the letter that customers were notified in late 2009 that sewer rates were going to increase for the first time in 18 years. But, according to Raimondo, the authority took steps to “strengthen the Authority’s financial position.”
