WHITEMARSH, PA — Township officials announced that a local park has been the recipient of a state grant designed to help the community space with various upgrades and improvements.

Whitemarsh says it received a grant in the amount of $219,000 from the Community Conservation Partnership of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to help with improving Miles Park, which is a 25-acre community park located at the intersection of Joshua Road and Germantown Pike.

According to the township, the grant dollars will be used for the construction of a pavilion, pedestrian walkways and basketball courts, along with the installation of new playground equipment, landscaping and better access for those with physical disabilities.
