Plymouth Meeting Woman And Philly Teacher Arrested In City For Underage Sex Assault
Barbara Corbo, 30, of Plymouth Meeting taught in a Philly school. She's being charged with institutional sexual assault on a minor.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — A Montgomery County woman is facing criminal charges in Philadelphia for what city police say was a sexual assault on an underage individual late last year.
Barbara Corbo, 30, of Woodbine Way in Plymouth Meeting, was arrested Wednesday and charged with institutional sexual assault, contact with a minor and related offenses, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Police say the arrest stems from an incident that occurred on the 800 block of Kelly Drive in Philadelphia back on Dec. 11, 2021, at around 5:30 p.m. in which Corbo had inappropriate contact with an underage person.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 18.
Channel 6 ABC Action News reported that Corbo had been an English and social studies teacher at Mercy Career and Technical High School in Philadelphia's Hunting Park neighborhood.
Action News reported that Corbo was fired from her job on Jan. 18, the same day that school officials were made aware of the incident.
A statement released to the media by the school says that officials were disturbed by the allegations and that the reported conduct "constitutes a gross violation of the ethical and moral responsibilities and commitments of an educator and is a violation of school policy."
