PA State Police Say A Woman Found Dead On Pennsylvania Turnpike Committed Suicide

Pennsylvania State Police ruled the death of a woman found deceased on the Turnpike this past weekend a suicide.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — A woman found dead on the Pennsylvania Turnpike this past weekend had committed suicide, according to authorities.

The Pennsylvania State Police say they were called to investigate a non-traffic death on Feb. 6 at around 6:30 in the evening on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Interstate 476 northbound at milepost 21.2 in Plymouth Township.

Investigators determined that the 24-year-old victim, who was from Philadelphia, had committed suicide. No foul play was discovered, and the northbound lanes of the roadway were closed for several hours while police investigated the scene, according to state troopers.

Police did not say the method by which the woman took her own life.

The scene was processed by state police officials from both the Troop K barracks in Skippack Township and the Troop T barracks in King of Prussia.
