Zydeco Music and a Blood Drive, This Week

Check out a few events happening this week in the Plymouth-Whitemarsh area.

Fit4Mom of Chestnut Hill and Plymouth Meeting will hold an hour of fitness and sign language for mothers and babies on Monday, July 29 at 9 a.m. at Sutcliffe Park in Conshohocken. The Greater Plymouth Community Center Park, at 2910 Jolly Road, will host the 78th annual Army Band Concert on Thursday, Aug. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert is a fundraising event for Plymouth Township’s Service and Devotion Monument.

Plymouth Township will hold a viewing of The Lorax on Wednesday, July 31 at the Greater Plymouth Community Center Park at 8 p.m. The event is free; bring a blanket and chairs.

On Friday, Aug. 2, the Whitemarsh Township Parks and Recreation Department will host Zydeco-A-Go-Go at the Miles Park Pavilion from 7 to 9 p.m. The band describes itself as Creole Zydeco and Cajun 2-steps with funky New Orleans rhythm and blues and vintage Louisiana rock and roll. The performance is free and part of the township’s entertainment series.
