Assault Reported in North Coventry

Assault: On April 7 at 5:15 p.m., officers from the North Coventry Police Department responded to a reported domestic assault on the 1300 block of Temple Road.

Upon arrival, police learned that a father and his 16-year-old son had gotten into an argument, which later became physical when the son allegedly punched his father in the head and struck him in the back with a lacrosse stick. Police then took the juvenile into custody.

Police filed a referral on the teen on charges of simple assault and harassment. The teen was later released to his mother.
