POTTSTOWN, PA — It was quick thinking on the part of a 10-year-old Montgomery County boy recently who approached a local store clerk and asked if she could pretend to be his mother because the youngster was being followed by a complete stranger on his way home from school.

Sammy Green ducked into a Pottstown flower shop and asked the 17-year-old clerk he had recognized from the neighborhood if she could act like his mother in an attempt to drive off a strange woman who had been following him as he walked the streets of Pottstown Borough after leaving school one day, according to a story on 6 ABC.

"If you're getting followed, don't trust them," Green told the news station on his quick thinking. "Just act casual and go by any adult."
