'CA$H Mob' Coming To Pottstown
A special group of holiday shoppers will gather at the Pottstown Farmers Market, 300 High Street, on Saturday.
Re-Occupy Pottstown will expand an effort to bring more shoppers to local businesses this weekend.
"Cash Mobs have a prearranged meeting spot, where we gather with $20 in hand ready to be spent at that local business," said Amy Bathurst Francis of Pottstown. "Anyone can spend more if you are able and would like, of course. This is a great demonstration of how, with a focused, joint effort, each person's purchasing power can truly make a difference."

The effort asks shoppers to spend their money at local small businesses.
"Since that shopping does have to get done and you still need to eat, why not keep it local?" she said.

The group will meet 10 a.m. Saturday at the front entrance of Pottstown Farmer's Market, 300 E. High Street.
"A $20 bill is our (weapon) of choice in the Shop Local First battle," she said.
The Farmer's Market offers one-stop shopping that includes Pottstown Florist, seafood at Mosteller's and fresh foods at J & H Produce, Francis said.
"Then grab a great lunch at Grumpy's," she said.
Francis said the group will wear "Re-Occupy" stickers.
"This should make us easily identifiable to the merchants and other shoppers while we go about or business," she said. "After all, we want everyone to know that we are proudly making a concerted effort to help support our local businesses."
The trip downtown doesn't have to end with lunch, Francis said.
"Stay and enjoy the great holiday events planned by (Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority.)"
