Fugitive Who Threatened to Kill Landlord Turns Himself In, Police Say

William Keith Kane, 23, of Lansdale, has turned himself in to Lansdale Police. Police believe he was hiding in Boyertown.

A Lansdale man accused of cutting his landlord's hand with a knife and threatening to kill him with a tire iron has turned himself in to police, following several weeks as a fugitive in hiding.

William Keith Kane, 23, was arraigned on Monday by District Judge Andrea Duffy, who set bail at 10-percent of $10,000. He was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail, according to the Lansdale Patch.

Kane is charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime, three misdemeanor counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment, all stemming from incidents between Kane and his landlord on March 8 and March 9.

After the incident on March 9, Kane fled the scene, which triggered felony warrant for his arrest. A prior press release from Lansdale Police indicated that they believed Kane was hiding somewhere in the Boyertown area.

Kane's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on March 28, in front of District Judge Harold Borek in Lansdale.
