Gas Prices Take a Dip This Week

Drivers in every state are paying more at the pump than a month ago; however, Pennsylvania drivers are beginning to get some relief, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.

Gas prices in the state have dropped 3.4 cents from a week ago and 3.5 cents in the Greater Philadelphia area. With “spot” gasoline prices (gasoline sold for immediate payment and delivery) also dropping dramatically across the country, it is likely that retail prices will continue to fall in the coming days, the report states.

These recent declines and the fact that the national retail average has fallen below the year-ago price supports AAA’s prediction that gas prices will peak this spring at a lower level than recent years.

Nearby, the cheapest price for regular – $3.59 per gallon – is at the Sunoco Station at the intersection of East High Street and South Adams Street in Pottstown.
