Manilla Pleads Guilty to Weapons Charges After Killing Hunter in 2010

Former attorney David Manilla, of Worcester, pleaded guilty on Monday to possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He faces up to 10 years in prison, in addition to his previous 10-to-25-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter.

Former attorney David Manilla is facing up to another decade in prison, after entering a guilty plea to charges of possession of firearms by a convicted felon on Monday in Montgomery County court.

The charges stem from the 2010 death of Barry Groh, who was shot and killed by Manilla while hunting in Bucks County. Manilla was eventually sentenced to 10-to-25 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Manilla was previously convicted of aggravated assault in 1985, and as a result, was prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms. According to Manilla’s plea memo, Manilla admitted to having 86 guns removed from his home on Valley Forge Road in Worcester, and then transported to a home on Hildebidle Road in Skippack Township.
