Multiple Retail Thefts Reported from Pottstown Walmart

Retail Theft: On March 18 at 6:07 p.m., police were dispatched to the Pottstown Walmart on Shoemaker Road for a report of a retail theft.

Upon arrival, police found Daniel Volbrig, 25, of Pottstown, already in the custody of store security. Security informed police that they allegedly observed Volbrig picking up a video game and stuffing it into the front waistband of his pants. Volbrig was confronted by store security as he attempted to exit the building, and he voluntarily walked back to the security area to await the arrival of police, the report states.

Police took Volbrig into custody, where he was cited for retail theft and later released.

Retail Theft: On March 21 at 11:51 p.m., police were dispatched to the Pottstown Walmart on Shoemaker Road for a report of a retail theft.

Police were informed that two men – identified as Adrion Collopy, 24, of Stowe, and Christopher Rosa, 24, of Stowe – had allegedly concealed clothing items on their person. Both men were taken into custody and issued citations for retail theft.

The value of the items reportedly stolen were $4.72 for Rosa and $7.50 for Collopy.

Retail Theft: On March 16 at 3:03 p.m., police were dispatched to the Pottstown Walmart on Shoemaker Road for a report of a retail theft in progress.

While heading to the scene, police encountered the three suspects – two male and one female – outside of Cash Converters. The two males were outside with a shopping cart filled with groceries, while the female was inside the store, the report states.

Police spoke with one of the men outside, requesting to see a receipt for the items in the grovery cart. Shortly after, police discovered three videogames inside the cart that had been reportedly stolen. A second officer encountered the female suspect inside Cash Converters, who later confessed to stealing two Nintendo Wii controllers which she intended to sell, the report states.

As a result, David Staude, 35, of East Greenville, and Bettina Heinze, 40, of Pottstown, were cited for retail theft. The second man was released without being cited after it was determined he was not involved in the theft.
