Murdered Teen Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in March

The West Pottsgrove teen who was found dead on Sunday was scheduled to appear in court this week on felony drug charges, stemming from a March arrest at the King of Prussia Mall.

Kareem Ali Borowy, 19, was charged on March 9 with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, and related charges after police said they saw him involved in a drug deal in the mall's parking garge.

Court records indicate that Borowy, along with his friend, Robert Bickel, and another man, Thien Nguyen, 25, were arrested and charged during the incident. 

Borowy, who was using his mother's BMW, was found to be in possession of over one pound of marijuana, along with nearly $600 in cash, the report states. Inside of the vehicle, police discovered a knife, three packages of blunt wraps, and a bag containing blunt wraps and baggies where Bickel was seated, according to the report.

Nguyen was found to be in possession of nearly $6,000 in cash and four cell phones, as well as three knives and a small baggie of marijuana that were located inside his vehicle, the report states.

Borowy's preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, but he was abducted from his home by gunmen on Sunday afternoon and was found dead along Sanatoga Station Road a short time later.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman stated in a press release that investigators believe that the robbery and abduction were not a random act, and they believe that Borowy was specifically targeted.
