Overnight Fatal Crash Closes Route 422 On Montco, Berks Co. Line

WEST POTTSGROVE, PA — A fatal crash occurred overnight along Route 422 at the Montgomery County and Berks County line, causing the westbound lanes of the highway to be closed for hours while investigators worked the scene, according to local news reports.

The Reading Eagle newspaper in Berks County reported that the fatal accident — which occurred around 1:30 a.m. in Douglass Township, Montgomery County — caused westbound traffic to be diverted onto local roads and caused 422 to be closed for about four-and-one-half hours.

There was no immediate word on the identities of the victims or how many were involved in the fatal crash.
