• Son carries on holiday tradition delivering teddy bears to Pottstown Hospital (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Children spending Christmas at Pottstown Hospital are getting a little extra comfort thanks to Rich Gray, who delivers teddy bears there every Christmas Eve in honor of his late father. The tradition began at Chester County Hospital, but Gray expanded it to Pottstown in 2019 and has kept the promise to brighten local kids’ holidays with a simple, thoughtful gift.
   

• Montgomery County raises millage rate for community college (northpennnow.com) — Montgomery County has approved 2026 tax increases that will raise property taxes and boost funding for Montgomery County Community College, including its Pottstown campus. Homeowners will pay about $36 more in county real estate tax and $17 more for the college millage, which officials say will generate $6.2 million in new operating revenue while helping freeze tuition for three years.
   

• Montgomery County closes out 2025 with $60.2 million contract package (pottsmerc.com subscription) — Montgomery County has approved a $60.2 million package of contracts that includes major funding for Creative Health Services in Pottstown to support substance use treatment and recovery. The deals also cover employee benefits, energy purchases, and extra money for food pantries during a SNAP payment pause, shaping county services that Pottstown residents rely on into 2026 and beyond.
