• Montco Man Killed After Driving Wrong Way On NJ Turnpike: Police (patch.com) — Pottstown readers are learning that 44-year-old resident Bruce Canfield was identified as the driver killed after traveling the wrong way on the New Jersey Turnpike in Ridgefield Park early Saturday morning. State police say his vehicle, heading south in the northbound lanes, collided with a sedan driven by a Poughkeepsie man who was seriously injured, and the cause remains under investigation.
   

• High-Speed Flight After Welfare Check Sparks Search for Driver in North Coventry (mychesco.com) — Police are asking Pottstown-area residents to help identify a driver who sped away from a welfare check near 351 West Schuylkill Road in North Coventry. Officers say the man drove off at high speed in a maroon 2011 Lincoln MKZ and was last seen heading westbound. Anyone who recognizes the described individual is urged to contact North Coventry Township Police with tips.
   

• How Montgomery County United to Build New Homeless Shelters (montco.today) — Pottstown is slated to get a new full-time emergency homeless shelter as part of Montgomery County’s plan to add 190 beds across Pottstown, Lansdale, and Norristown by late 2025. County commissioners from both parties backed $5.3 million in funding and pushed through zoning hurdles as homelessness rose sharply despite the county’s overall wealth.
