Pottstown Bonfire Burns Despite Water

High water did not stop the Pottstown High School bonfire tradition.  

While the Schuylkill River swelled within a few feet of the fire, the annual Pottstown and Owen J. Roberts pregame Thanksgiving Day bonfire when on.

Sponsored by the Touchdown Club, it was complete with players, music, cheerleaders, coaches and fans.

As an added treat, members of the class of 1961 were at the event and celebrated their 50th high school reunion by adding an eight-foot-tall wooden "61" to fuel the fire.
