Woman Charged in Arson of Pottstown Home
Had reportedly been arguing with partner over how to raise their children

A Pottstown woman has been charged with the arson of her Spruce Street home following a reported dispute with her domestic partner over how to raise their children.
NBC10 Philadelphia reports that 48-year-old Cora Lee Sharp had a blood-alcohol level of .20 percent at the time of her arrest Sunday night and that she admitted using a cigarette lighter to start a fire in her kitchen.
Sharp's partner reportedly took the couple's two adopted children to her mother's house, then returned to the couple's home, when an argument began. Police were dispatched to the home at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, and fire crews responded a little more than a half-hour later.

A fire last night at Spruce and Grace streets in Pottstown is being investigated as arson, accoridng to a report in the Pottstown Mercury. Borough Fire Marshall Richard Lengel told reporters that the fire, which broke out on Sunday night, was suspected as arson.

Crews reported to the scene at 9:06 p.m., Sunday, reports say. The fire was quickly extinguished. According to Lengel, it only took 22 minutes for local departments to put out the fire. Depsite the quick action, the fire caused between $60,000 and $70,000 in damages.
Reports state that multiple set fires at the scene seemed to be the cause of the blaze at 967 Spruce St., Pottstown.
