Pottstown Man Killed in Norco Motorcycle Crash, Police Investigating

Michael D. Nesspor, 23, of Pottstown, was killed on Wednesday night after his 1997 Harley Davidson crashed into a guide rail on Route 724. He was not wearing a helmet.

A Pottstown man was killed on Wednesday night after his motorcycle crashed into a guide rail on Route 724 in North Coventry.

Members of the North Coventry Police Department responded to a report of a motorcycle crash in area of Route 724 and Scholl Road shortly after 8 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that the operator – identified as Michael D. Nesspor, 23, of Pottstown – had been killed in the crash.

The report states that Nesspor – who was not wearing a helmet – sustained severe trauma to his head and neck. A female passenger – who was wearing a helmet – sustained various abrasions and a broken left leg. She was transported to Reading Hospital by Goodwill Ambulance.

The female passenger and a witness on the scene told police that Nesspor was operating his 1997 Harley Davidson at a high rate of speed while traveling westbound on Route 724, the report states. Nesspor then failed to negotiate a left curve and crossed over into the eastbound lane, where he struck a guide rail, according to the report.

As a result of the crash and subsequent investigation, Route 724 was closed between Scholl Road and Unionville Road until 1:15 a.m. Members of the North Coventry Township Police and Fire Departments, North Coventry and Berks Fire Police and Goodwill Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The investigation into the crash remains open pending further investigation.
