Pottstown: Old, New, Tough and Hopeful

Pottstown is a diverse and friendly community.

Sure, the area has its problems including the need for public transportation to towns like King Of Prussia where more jobs can be found.

Some locals disagree over the number of owner-occupied homes versus multi-family unit investment properties. 

School taxes and the quality of education are also a big concern.

But many folks in this town are trying to find new ways to move forward. 

And Pottstown survived tough times in the past.

A mural on a brick building behind the Pottstown Public Library illustrates a slice of the town's history and evolution. 

The painting shows past generations, people who surely struggled through tough economic times and worried about the future.

It's also a symbol of strength, innovation, a reminder that throughout history people have found new ways to cope, survive and grow. 

While there's no easy answer or fast method to help the jobless in this community,  many locals are open-minded and embrace a chance to grow.
