One Dead in Shooting Outside Brian's Cafe

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed outside of Brian's Cafe on Jefferson Avenue early Friday morning.

An early-morning shooting outside of Brian's Cafe on Jefferson Avenue has claimed the life of an unidentified 27-year-old man.

According to a release from the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, the shooting occurred at 2:17 a.m. along the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered a 27-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported by Goodwill Ambulance to Pottstown Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim's name is being withheld pending family notification.

According to a source in the law enforcement community, a second shooting victim was later discovered in Lesher Alley shortly before 8 a.m. Friday morning. That report remains unconfirmed at this time, though the incident was listed on the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety's website.

The investigation into the shooting is being conducted by the Pottstown Borough Police Department and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pottstown Police at 610-970-6570 or county detectives at 610-278-3368.
