Co-Ed Kids Flag Football Program Coming To Wayne This Spring

The Wayne Wildcats' co-ed flag football program is set for this spring, and area kids in kindergarten through eighth grade can sign up.

WAYNE, PA — Kids in the Wayne area interested in football without the potential injuries might want to sign up for a local flag football program.

The Wayne Wildcats are hosting a co-ed flag football program this spring in partnership with Radnor Township.

Registration open now online here to kids in kindergarten through eighth grade from any surrounding township. The cost to participate is $200. Registration closes at midnight on March 31.

The program will run from April 1 to May 31 and feature three divisions:

  • K-2 Division — Introductory, skill-focused program with games on Thursdays.
  • 3-5 Division — Developing skills, competitive games on Sundays.
  • 6-8 Division — Middle school competitive play, games on Sundays.

If registration numbers allow, the older may be divided into two groups, one being 6-7 and the other a standalone grade 8 group.

Participants will get a team jersey to keep, flag football equipment, structured practices, organized games, an end-of-season tournament, and awards.

Games will be held from 5:30 p.m. to dark on Mondays at Dittmar Field. All divisions play on Monday nights, with games running in 30 minute time slots. Three games will run simultaneously width-wise on the field to maximize efficiency.

Practices will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Dittmar Field. Each team gets one dedicated practice per week. Practices are age-specific to focus on skill development.
