Flooding Impacting Radnor Township Roads, Police Warn
Remember the phrase "turn around, don't drown" when encountering flooded roadways, as even small amounts of floodwater can be deadly.
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — As rain batters the Philadelphia region Thursday, Radnor Township Police are alerting drivers to potentially dangerous road conditions.
Police said all roads in Radnor Township are being affected by minor flooding.
The flooding alert is in effect through 2:30 p.m., according to Radnor Police.

Drivers are reminded of the "turn around, don't drown" phrase used by the National Weather Service.
According to the National Weather Service, more deaths occur due to flooding than from any other thunderstorm related hazard annually.

More than half of all flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into hazardous flood water, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The next highest percentage of flood-related deaths is due to walking into or near floodwaters.
Weather officials say just 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult, a foot of rushing water can carry away most cars, and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks.
