Jim Gardner Delivers Radnor Commencement Address
The 2023 commencement is at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Finneran Pavilion, Villanova University.

RADNOR, PA — Jim Gardner, a distinguished journalist, and former anchor for 6ABC News in Philadelphia, will deliver the Radnor High School commencement address to the Class of 2023 on June 7 at Villanova University.
In early 2023, seniors at Radnor High School produced a short video asking Gardner to be their commencement speaker.
Michael McNicholas, a senior and executive director of students' affairs, shared that he, and PJ Duffy, class president, spoke with Principal Panayota "PT" Kevgas about the commencement speaker.

The two suggested that the speaker should be someone the students “can look up to, learn from, and be familiar with."
"Mr. Gardner is a perfect example of this,” McNicholas said. "Gardner is a local legend and a Radnor parent who has stayed dedicated to our schools even after his children graduated.”

The students were thrilled when Gardner accepted their invitation to speak.
"We are honored to have Jim Gardner join us as the keynote speaker for our graduation ceremony," Principal Kevgas said. "Mr. Gardner's vast experience in journalism and his commitment to his community will undoubtedly inspire our seniors to pursue their passions and make a difference in their own communities."
Gardner was a fixture in the Philadelphia media market for over 40 years, covering major news events and bringing the latest updates to viewers every evening on 6ABC News.
He has earned numerous accolades for his work, including being inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame.
