"The team has been plagued with some late in the season injuries, but have such a great spirit and will have fun no matter whether they win or lose at Nationals," parent volunteer Heather Gill said in an email to Patch. "They will also get to meet/play with some amazing athletes from all over the US."

The team claimed championships at both the Kit Kat Tournament and the Coconut Classic in the fall of 2023, and placed third at the YULA National Qualifying Tournament in March.

They also won the "Spirit Award" at the Coconut Classic tournament. The "Spirit of the Game" is what makes ultimate Frisbee truly unique, Gill said.

"The responsibility of fair play rests solely on the athletes themselves by requiring each player to know the rules and make their own calls, without the help of a referee," she said. "These underlying principles reinforce mutual respect and trust between opponents; communication and conflict resolution skills as well as build self-confidence both on and off the field."
