Villanova Student Assists Police In Arresting Suspect

RADNOR, PA —Radnor township police honored a Villanova University student for springing into action recently when a suspect ditched his motorcycle and ran from police during a recent traffic stop.

Phillip Sandor, 22, of Illinois, received a certificate of appreciation from Radnor Police Superintendent Chris Flanagan for his help in arresting a suspect on April 17.

Police were attempting to stop the suspect who had warrants for arrest outstanding in Philadelphia and Chester County.

Sandor, who was on his way to school, spotted the suspect running from police across SEPTA high-speed-line tracks.

He quickly offered Officer Kyle Hand a ride around the train tracks, where the officer found the suspect hiding. The suspect was taken into custody.

"We are grateful for his assistance," Sgt. Brady McHale said Tuesday.
