Founders Philly Freeze-Out Bringing Beer, Music, Food To Manayunk

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — Main Street Manayunk will transform into a winter wonderland next weekend thanks to Founders Brewing Company.

Founders Philly Freeze-Out is once again returning to Manayunk on Saturday, Feb. 13.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Manayunk will be full of ice carving demonstrations, Founders Brewing Company drink and chowder specials in restaurants, live music, and in-store shopping events.

More than 35 ice sculptures by Peter Slavin and his team at Ice Sculpture Philly will line the streets throughout the day. Ice sculpture tours start at Shurs Lane and continues down to Main and Lock Streets where Founders Brewing Company will be handing out goodies and prizes to attendees who register ahead. Then at 12:30 p.m., Main and Rector streets will host live ice carving, sponsored by Manayunk Tavern and The Couch Tomato.

Freeze-out goers can enjoy live music will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Canal View Park.

A final live ice carving demonstration will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Union Tao House,

End your day with another live ice carving, sponsored by and located at Union Tap House at 3:30 p.m.

In addition to the outdoor, socially-distanced family fun, Founders Brewing Company beer and chowder specials will be on the menu at participating restaurants, including Manayunk Tavern, Winnie’s Manayunk, Ryan’s Pub, and Taqueria Amor. Local shops and boutiques, such as Ilumine Gallery, will be offering shopping deals as well.

Attendees should dress warm and are asked to wear masks, and keep their distance from others.
