LGBTQ+ Festival Out & About MYNK Set For Last Weekend Of September

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — The LGBTQ+ community and its allies are invited to spend a weekend celebrating National Coming Out Day and the community later this month in Manayunk.

Manayunk Development Corporation is bringing back Out & About in MNYK.

The three-day event spans from Friday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct., 2 and celebrates National Coming Out Day and the LGBTQ+ community.

It will feature a variety of live performances and activities, as well as local vendors, artists, and organizations.

Throughout the weekend, many of Manayunk’s businesses will host drag events such as drag brunch, drag quizzo, and drag workouts in collaboration with Philly Drag Mafia.

Fat Lady Brewing will host Ash Theater Company’s production of The Laramie Project, and Philadelphia Runner will be putting on a 5K with donations going to The Trevor Project.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Main Street Manayunk will be filled with vendors, artists, and organizations, pop-up drag performances, and a roving marching band - courtesy of the Philadelphia Freedom Band.

That night, the TNP shadow cast will take over Venice Island Performing Arts Center for the Rocky Horror Picture Show Live Event.

"We can’t wait to celebrate National Coming Out Day at Out & About," said Caitlin Marsilii, Manayunk Development Corporation’s Events Coordinator. "There’s a lot of collaboration with this event, and we are so excited for everyone to come and join us in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community!"

To top things off, festival attendees can get around Main Street Manayunk for free on the event’s double-decker bus.

There will be stops at several restaurants and shops as well as at performance locations.
