Out & About in MNYK To Celebrate LGBTQ+ Community
The day will feature LGBTQ+ organizations and entertainment to promote Manayunk as a safe place that welcomes everyone.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA — In recognition of National Coming Out Day next month, Main Street in Manayunk is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community by bringing back Our & About MNYK.
Main events will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 along Main Street in Manayunk.
Vendors and LGBTQ+ organizations will be set up on Main Street sidewalks, such as Francis Place, a new local initiative that supports and empowers LGBTQ+ young adults aging out of foster care or have been kicked out of their homes for being who they are.

The event will host LGBTQ+ organizations and entertainment to promote Manayunk as a safe place that welcomes everyone.
Weekend fun begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1 with drag bingo at Winnie's Manayunk. Tickets are $25 and include two drinks. Get tickets here.

On Saturday, Transylvania Nipple Productions (TNP) is hosting a sold out performance of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 8 p.m. at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center while the movie is projected on a large screen.
At 1 p.m. Saturday, Philly Drag Mafia will host a story time followed by a performance at Gay and Main Streets at 3 p.m. Along with the Mafia will be Philly’s own Stella the Maneater of Manayunk.
After the show, Stella will be doing a meet and greet at Johnny Destructo’s Hero Complex.
Saturday's festivities will conclude a stand-up comedy show featuring Delco’s favorite aunt, Aunt Mary Pat at the Venice Island Performing Arts Center. Get tickets for $30 each here.
Additionally, Manayunk businesses will celebrate with promotions, such as City of Paws Pet Care’s sale on pride products with a percentage of sales donated to The Attic Youth Center, a Trans & Gender Nonconforming Pelvic Health Workshop with Launchpad Fitness at 11 a.m., and 20 percent off at Tubby Robot for Venice Island performance ticket holders.
Topping off the fun will be food and drink specials from Bell's Brewery, a proud sponsor of Out & About in MNYK. Many of Main Street’s businesses will be flying the pride flag to support the event and the Philadelphia community.
Then on Sunday, Oct. 3, the weekend-long event wraps up with two workshops at Launchpad Fitness, "Binding Health Workshop" and "Creating Your Own Fitness Routine," along with mini drag performances at participating restaurants, including Taqueria Amor, Lucky’s Last Chance, and Jake's & Cooper's Wine Bar starting at 1 p.m.
"Our small business owners have really come together to put together another great LGBTQ+ event this October in Manayunk," said Gwen McCauley, Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation. "We’re excited to host an entire weekend of events, activations, and promotions in Manayunk - one of the most welcoming neighborhoods in Philadelphia."
