Philadelphia School District Delays Hybrid Learning
Philly's Chief of Schools Dr. Evelyn Nunez said all students will continue with fully digital learning "until further notice."

PHILADELPHIA — Students in the School District of Philadelphia won't be attending school in person any time soon.
School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. William Hite Tuesday said plans to move to a hybrid learning model has been put on hold indefinitely.
The decision comes as coronavirus cases in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania as a whole are rising.

Officials in the district planned to welcome students back to buildings in November.
Hite Tuesday said the district will be moving to hybrid learning when the Pennsylvania departments of education and health, as well as the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, give guidance saying in-person learning can be done so safely.

He said the decision was a disappointing one to make, but said it's for the best in terms of student and staff health and wellbeing.
Families who chose hybrid learning for their students will have their choice honored when hybrid learning is available.
Additionally, meals will still be provided at schools across the city.
