Local men's rugby club advances to the national finals

On April 23rd, the Schuylkill River Exiles Rugby Football Club (Philadelphia, Pa) defeated Rocky Gorge RFC (Baltimore, MD) 48-45 to win the Mid-Atlantic Conference. With the victory, Schuylkill River advances to the Division 1 Club National Championships (https://www.usa.rugby/club/) held in Atlanta Georgia May 20 to 22 at Silverbacks Park. The Exiles will take on the Chicago Griffins RFC in the National Semifinal and if advance will play the National Championship vs. Belmont Shore (Longbeach, Ca), or Dallas Reds.
Schuylkill River Exiles Rugby Football Club was founded in 1995 and is the only Division 1 (the highest level of amateur rugby in the US) men's club in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The club also boasts multiple sides at lower levels welcoming athletes of all skill levels.
Schuylkill River Exiles RFC is always recruiting new athletes regardless of having played rugby before. Don’t let the athlete in you retire!
