Shawmont succeeds at Model UN
Continuing a tradition of excellence, Shawmont School students earn six awards at this year's Model United Nations Program.
The Student Diplomat - Model United Nations Program is sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. It is a five-month journey that introduces 7th grade students to international affairs and cultural diplomacy. The program has an emphasis on developing students’ research, writing, cultural competency, and communication skills.
The program offers students an exciting opportunity to examine global conflicts while working together to create promising solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges. The committee topic for the 2020-2021 Jr. Model United Nations Program was "Ensuring Healthy Lives and Promoting Well-Being for All."
