Week Ahead: Attend Night Out, Dog Park Meeting to Be Held

Here's what's going on this week in the Roxborough-Manayunk area.

Town Watch Night Out: Join police officers from the Philadelphia 5th District on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 7-9 p.m. at Gorgas Park for the annual Town Watch Night Out.  Come together as a neighborhood to show that the community is organized and fighting back.

Dog Park Meeting: There will be another planning meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. at St. Timothy's Church to discuss the dog park proposal for a vacant lot located at 4100 Mitchell Street.  The city is offering to sell the land for a nominal fee if the community is willing to take ownership of the planning and maintenance of the park.

Say Goodbye to Some Goats: The Friends of the Wissahickon will say goodbye to four goats who have been used in the park in a study on invasive plant management.  There will be a brief ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. to bid the goats farewell as the head home to Oregon.
