Week Ahead: Attend Night Out, Dog Park Meeting to Be Held

Here's what's going on this week in the Roxborough-Manayunk area.

Town Watch Night OutJoin police officers from the Philadelphia 5th District on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 7-9 p.m. at Gorgas Park for the annual Town Watch Night Out.  Come together as a neighborhood to show that the community is organized and fighting back.

Dog Park Meeting: There will be another planning meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. at St. Timothy's Church to discuss the dog park proposal for a vacant lot located at 4100 Mitchell Street.  The city is offering to sell the land for a nominal fee if the community is willing to take ownership of the planning and maintenance of the park.

Say Goodbye to Some GoatsThe Friends of the Wissahickon will say goodbye to four goats who have been used in the park in a study on invasive plant management.  There will be a brief ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. to bid the goats farewell as the head home to Oregon.
