Diamond Band, Tee Box Marker Among Recent Thefts

Springfield Police Department is investigating a number of recently reported thefts.

The Springfield Country Club Golf Course reported that sometime during the night of September 29 someone stole the bronze tee box marker for the ninth hole at the golf course. The marker is valued at $400.

A resident from the 1300 block of Kendall Road reported that sometime between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. September 30 someone forcibly entered his house through a rear first floor bathroom window. Once inside, the person or people went through the master bedroom and stole a diamond wedding band.

A Chester resident reported that sometime between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. on October 1 someone went into her unlocked car and stole her pocketbook while the car was parked in the lot of the Springfield Mall near the Macy’s Store. Two boxes of shoes were also missing. The pocketbook contained various forms of identification, cash, and credit cards. The credit cards were cancelled before they could be used, according to police.

A Glenolden resident reported that in the evening of October 1 someone stole her pocketbook from the trunk of her car while it was parked in front of the Wine & Spirits Store in the 100 block of Baltimore Pike. The victim said that she had taken a credit card out of her pocketbook in the trunk and possibly did not properly lock the trunk. The pocketbook contained cash, various forms of identification, and credit cards. The credit cards were cancelled before they could be used, according to police.
