Homeowner Scares Away Robber, Police Say

Police are searching for a man who fled when the homeowner yelled.

 

Springfield Police are investigating a home robbery where the homeowner reportedly chased the intruder away.

Police say a homeowner reported that someone had just fled his house in the 900 block of Greenbriar Lane at 10:40 a.m. on March 7. A police investigation showed that an unknown intruder entered the house and stole money from a dresser drawer in a bedroom. According to a police report "there were no signs of forced entry. The resident had heard someone in the home and when he yelled out, the (intruder) fled out the front door. The area was checked but the (robber), described as a tall white male wearing a black hoodie, was gone."
