Resident Reports Break-In, $10,000 of Goods Stolen

Read about some recent thefts being investigated by Springfield Police Department.

Springfield residents have reported a number of recent thefts from their properties.

A resident from the unit block of Eagle Road reported that sometime between August 15 and August 19  someone broke into his home. The entry was made by smashing a side basement window. Once inside the person or people ransacked various rooms, according to police. A large quantity of jewelry and household items were stolen valued in excess of $10,000.

A resident from the 900 block of West Avenue reported that sometime during the night of August 24 someone entered his unlocked shed in the back of the home and stole a Honda power washer. The item is valued in excess of $400, according to police.

A resident from the 1000 block of Crozer Lane reported that sometime during the night of August 24 someone stole the pool filter and pump from the rear yard of the home. The items are valued in excess of $500, according to police.

A resident from the unit block of Forest Road reported that sometime during the night of August 24 someone entered her unlocked car and stole a cup full of change and rummaged through a bag but nothing was taken. The car was parked on the street in front of the home.

A resident from the 200 block of N. Norwinden Drive reported that sometime during the night of August 24 someone entered his shed in the rear of the home and stole the gas powered trimmer. The lock had been removed from the shed and was also taken.
